Contract for

U.S. Civil War Carbines.

.50 caliber r.f., 20" round barrel. The first 200 were without any marking or serial number. It is supposed that only 1500 had been made in 1864.

.40 caliber percussion, 6" barrel marked LEAVITT's PATENT / MANd BY WARNER & WESSON HARd, Ct and WESSON'S & LEAVITT'S PATENT. So marked revolvers were completed by Thomas Warner after E. Wesson's dead in 1859. Less than an dozend had been made. The Massachusetts Arms Co. manufactured a similair but dragoon size revolver.
