Apparently, there are two different Senator revolvers. The manufacturer of that one, which is
only marked SENATOR is unknown SENATOR No. 1 .22 r.f. caliber, 7 shot single action revolver, spur trigger, solid flat frame, 2 17/32" round barrel, plain cylinder, birdhead grips, marked SENATOR No. 1 on topstrap. This one was manufactured by Hopkins & Allen. Very likely this gun was only made in .22 r.f. caliber. Besides: number means only the cartridge to be used. No. 1 was .22 r.f. short until the .22 long was introduced about 1871 No. 1 1/2 was .32 r.f. short No. 2 was .32 r.f. long No. 3 was .38 r.f. No. 4 was .41 or .44 r.f. |
