Apprentice of William Billinghurst. He changed professions to become a successful Dentist in the
Civil War. In 1862 he and Billinghurst invented the Billinghurs-Requa battery gun
(Platoon battery gun) which was used
in the war. This machine gun predates the Gatling. It was a 25 rifle barreled gun which could
