Formed by Samuel McCosh and Jacob F. Brant in 1852. They separated in 1855 Becames later possession of James Bown & Sons, Wood Street, Pittsburg. Burnd down for the third time within 12 years on November 18, 1880 at about 3 o'clock. Bown & Sons suffered a loss of stock of about $10.000. Besides in 1877 a mob has gutted their gun works.
