Abraham Nippes started the Nippes and Company, Philadelphia in 1808. He got governments contracts. His son,
David Nippes build government-pattern long rifles for the war 1812. David was running the Mill Creek site of
Nippes manufactured more than 5000 flintlock rifles and got an Army contract for 1000 Nippes rifles to convert to the Maynard Primer.
