See also Jennings, Smith & Jennings, New Haven Arms co., and Winchester Walter Hunt was born on July 29, 1796 in Martinsburg, New York. He passed away in 1859 Partnership with George A. Arrowsmith. One of Arrowsmith employees was Lewis Jennings who made several aprovements to Hunt's design. The patents fot the Hunt Rocket Ball, his lever rifle together with the Jennings improvements (patent 6,973) were sold to Courtland C. Palmer for $100'000 in 1850. .54 caliber loaded ball with priming pellets, Volition Repeater, tubular magazine. Except the patetent model no production is known. Seems being preserved at the Cody Museum in Wyoming right side The Hunt repeater was improved by Jennings and Smith & Jennings |
