Stepson of Abraham Nippes who fullfilled the contract for muskets to
the Philadelphia Arsenal of Winner, Nippes and Steinman. Delivery was made on March 1813 Is mentionned as a gunsmith and a swordmaker în the 1814 Philadelphia City Directory Joseph Henry sold Henkels a home on the corner of Tammany and Fourth. Henkels was later furnishing swords to Henry. About 1817 Henkels went bankrupt and probably became a barrel borer for Harpers Ferry. |
