A four shot or twenty-eight shot (depends on point of view). The cylinder
contains twenty-eight chambers, which are discharged in groups of seven
through a barrel containing seven separate bores. The cylinder is locked
by a latch inside the trigger guard and is turned by hand. A similar, but
earlier, revolver was the Elgar and Smith. |
