.53 caliber (sometimes stated .54 caliber) Single shot, underhammer bolt-action percussion rifle,
36" barrel, marked "Greene's Patent/Nov. 17, 1857". To load the rifle first a single bullet had to
load following by a combusible cartridge tha thad its bullet at the base which acting as gas seal.
About 4,000 were made by the A.H. Waters Armory
