Henry Carlile purchased the property on the north side of East King street where he ran his gunsmithing business until his death in May 1847. It is believed that James Hampton Johnston, Waynesboro, and Henry Noll, Washington township were his apprentices. Carlile is assigned to the Franklin County School of Gunsmiths.
