His witness in the killing of McCausland about an "Alaska" pistol in
.38 caliber manufactured by
John Lovell & Co., near Boston, Massachusetts. This pistol was mande in
great quantities under different names. The brand "Alaska" was made for
Turner & Ross. This model was made prior to 1870 and was sold at about $ 1.50.
Witness was made 1888.
